BRIAN AVERS, Co-founder of Acting (Actually)
Born & raised in Columbus Ohio, Brian's been a celebrated stage, screen & VO actor for over 20 years, performing on Broadway in Florian Zeller's Tony & Academy Award-winning The Father, opposite Frank Langella; American Son, opp. Kerry Washington; Tom Stoppard's Rock N Roll, opp. Brian Cox, Rufus Sewell & Alice Eve, Travesties, opp. Tom Hollander, and a bloody debut in Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant of Inishmore, opp. Alison Pill & Domnhall Gleason... Off- Broadway highlights include King Lear, opposite Kevin Kline at the Public Theater (Edgar); Itamar Moses' Completeness, Theresa Rebeck's Poor Behavior, Gina Gionfriddo's Becky Shaw, and Nell Benjamin's The Explorer's Club at MTC; memorable appearances on screen include NCIS & NCIS LA, Castle, Law & Order, L&O: SVU, Blue Bloods, FBI, The Closer, Person of Interest, Instinct, Medium, Numb3rs, Life on Mars, Unforgettable, Julie / Julia, & indie Gigantic opposite Paul Dano & Zooey Deschanel... Brian's voice has fronted national campaigns for major brands, also appearing in video games and audiobooks in multiple genres. An active director, writer & producer, Brian's created plays, podcasts, sketch series and indie comedy feature The Weekend (2013), starring a terrific cast of actors & improvisers. AMY LYNN STEWART, Co-founder of Acting (Actually)
Amy is an award winning actress appearing in numerous tv series including The Good Fight, Monsterland, FBI: Most Wanted, HBO's I know This Much Is True, Madam Secretary, House of Cards, and Shades of Blue. She has appeared in numerous indie films and national voiceover campaigns, and has performed on stages in New York and beyond, including the Actors Theatre of Louisville Humana Festival, Lincoln Center, Syracuse Stage, Indiana Repertory Stage, Dorset Theatre, Two River Theatre, The English Theatre of Frankfurt, NYC Fringe, Theatre Row, Cherry Lane Studio, Project Y, Flux Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse. Amy's received multiple awards, including Outstanding Lead Actress from San Diego Playbill, Best Actress Awards from Theatre World, ITBA, and Talkin' Broadway, Best Actress - Int'l Action Film Festival, and the Palm Award for Best Actress at the Mexico Int'l Film Festival.
Amy received her MFA in Acting from the University of California, San Diego, and her BA in Dramatic Art from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is a graduate of The Public Theatre's Shakespeare Lab, and The Warehouse Theatre's Journeymen Program (J7). Amy is a proud member of The Actors Center, NYC.
Amy currently teaches Acting for Camera, Scene Study, Shakespeare and Musical Theater Acting at Emerson, and Boston Berklee College of Music.
JIEHAE PARK, original founder of MFAActing.com
Jiehae Park was the original founder of MFAActing.com, one of the first services of its kind to curate high quality coaching for actors applying to MFA programs. An MFA Acting graduate from UCSD, Jiehae's become an accomplished playwright, having written peerless (Primary Stages NY, Yale Rep premiere, Cherry Lane MP, Marin Theatre Co, Barrington Stage, First Floor, Company One, Moxie), Hannah and the Dread Gazebo (Oregon Shakespeare Festival), Here We Are Here (Sundance Theater-Makers residency, Berkeley Rep’s Ground Floor, Princess Grace Works-in-Progress @ Baryshnikov Arts Center), The Aves (McCarter Spotlight Festival), and contributions to Wondrous Strange (Humana/Actor’s Theatre of Louisville). Her work has been developed through the Soho Rep Writer-Director Lab, the Public’s Emerging Writers Group, p73’s i73, Playwrights Horizons, CTG Writers Workshop, NYTW, Atlantic, PlayCo, Old Globe, Dramatists Guild Fellowship, Ojai Conference, BAPF, and the amazing Ma-Yi Writers Lab. Awards: Leah Ryan, Princess Grace, Weissberger, ANPF Women’s Invitational; two years on the Kilroys List. Commissions: Playwrights Horizons, Yale Rep, Geffen, OSF, Williamstown, MTC/Sloan. As a performer, she most recently appeared in Ripe Time - Naomi Iizuka's adaption of Murakami's SLEEP (BAM Next Wave, Yale Rep) and Celine Song’s ENDLINGS (ART). TV: staff writer, season one of Marvel's RUNAWAYS. She is a NYTW Usual Suspect, LCT New Writer in Residence, former Hodder Fellow, current New Dramatist, and 2019-20 Tow Playwright-in-Residence at Primary Stages. Her play peerless is scheduled for its New York premiere at Primary Stages in September 2022. BA, Amherst; MFA, UCSD.
